MY DEAREST AMERICAN FRIENDS...
As you know I have been writing about the old wartime airfields in Norfolk,
England recently, constantly visited by so many veterans and their families
over the years. Though the veterans of the infamous 8th that were serving
across Norfolk have declined over the last years, family links, still make the
trip from the States to visit or revisit those famous landmarks that were so
much apart of those young lives during the war 1942-43. Coming to Norwich
means a super library awaits with its own wartime room filled with endless
books and films and background of how the airfields were laid out during
the war and how close they were together. A visit would bring a wealth of
knowledge. Then there is the remaining Tower museums with the remnants
of that station with artifacts, uniforms, equipment, everything that was
associated with the activities on that base. The photographs of the planes
and airmen are everywhere. On the walls and in books. A real atmosphere
hangs over these places as you get lost in all those recorded memories that
have remained intact for all these years. Visiting beautiful Norwich with
its unique countryside very near to the coastline is worth a visit in itself
and there are no shortages of guesthouses and hotels to make your stay
enjoyable. The Norfolk Broads and the Tudor historic Halls are also worth
seeing. Sandringham which is west of Norwich and being one of the Queen's
residences within a huge expanse of grounds, would certainly interest the
traditional. Check out flights and hotels and just see how affordable your
trip might be.

CHEAP AMERICAN AIRLINES
By choosing Americam airlines you will be able to book cheap
flights.
The Big Apple is home to the Empire State building, Statue
of Liberty, Times Square and Broadway. Great museums and
galleries, restaurants and of course shopping - why not check
out a flight as we are coming into spring.
MIAMI.. mile upon mile of sand and sun, for the young and
rich and famous. The US fashion capital. Salsa music and
seafood.
BOSTON. Streets are elegant and so are the squares with world
class galleries, limitless lobster and just across the Charles
River - a one stop shop of city breaks.
LOS ANGELES AND ORLANDO have endless attractions and
destinations..Check them out!! I shall be going to Greece
shortly and again will be visiting Parga. A port in the cliff
face with a lovely square and some nice buildings and many
a boat trip around the islands especially to Paxos where I
spent 7 days some years ago. Talking of a boat trip. I sat late
in the day (flight was late) on this boat just as it was getting
dark and the owner said it was safe for us to cross even though
the sea was lifting up. Of course we followed with our luggage.
The boat set off and I sat huddled up to my partner as the
wind cut into us. Then suddenly, a whole meal it seems had
dropped into my lap. Goodness knows what it consisted of
but it had flecks of tomato in part and onions also, so I had
assumed it was the part body of a pizza, then a bigger load
came and this time I recognised the red claret....
No thank you! I would never try that again. I love Greece,
but I will stick to Athens since there are some nice beaches
a mile or two away. A great city break I think with beaches,
just like Barcelona and Venice. Take advantage of the special
offers around at this moment - why wait. A trip I am looking
to go on is the Nile Cruise then Cairo and the pyramids. .....

Another good site I came across is: Low Fare Flights.co.uk. I have had this site
on my favourites for some time. With the qualities of skyscanner they provide
you with flights well in advance at bargain prices from numerous airports. On
one date a flight from Birmingham to Prague can cost £90 but on other dates
£9. Of course, this would suit the flexible traveller. I like this site as it is very
informative. I travelled to Antalaya in Turkey last year and booked my own
flights through Fly ThomasCook at £130 return. The typical Turkish hotel
in the old quarter 'Pasa' for short, was really a treat. You need to look it up to
see the pictures. What a relaxing holiday that was for two. However, if you
have children, then the beaches are out of the centre with more accomodating
hotels to suit. The vibrant buzz of the small city however was very interesting
despite the constant prayers from the loudspeakers. For a couple, I found a
week was too long. Three or four days would have been sufficient. Turkey
is still quite reasonably priced because the £1 goes further than anywhere else
it appears....If you are thinking of a break, have a quick peek at some of the
cheaper airlines for the city breaks with some outstanding hotels offering quite
a bit of discount at present......

WHY I PREFER TO USE BUDGET AIRLINES TO AND FROM THE UK..
budget ( or no frills airlines ) make sense, considering they are growing
in numbers.
Why choose others that are so expensive just to have the nice meal and
the tidy looked after seats when if travelling in europe no sooner you
are on the plane then you are off again. I have travelled with Ryanair
and Easy Jet and now other no frills airlines including Air Berlin, and
Smart Wings to name a few. This week I could have gone to Turin and
Nice in the South of France for less than £30 whilst on the net prices
were as much as £400 elsewhere.
So why not get there quicker and save the money for a great hotel. So
many bargain offers at present from the Hotel groups such as Hotel.com
and Booking.Com and the latter you do not need to pay until you leave
the hotel. I have managed to cover most of europe by using these No
Frills airlines. I have travelled with other so called comfort flights but
have had less to spend when I got there.
When you look up any of these companies, just drop in a date, and be
surprised what you come up with. If you are flexible and want a cheap
alternative then use Skyscanner. Their flight chart will give you a grapth
showing when its cheap to go. What you waiting for. Get looking!
No frills airlines and quality hotels.
